You can use task-manager(when windows) or something like that to check
if other program (spyware) is consuming your CPU cycles.
To start task manager of windows 2K, right click the task-bar. Select
"process" and then "cpu" column to sort the processes that consume your
CPU. If the biggest consumer of your CPU is NOT setiathome, check if the
cunsumer is a right program for you.

You can download softwares on the internet that will wash spyware out
from your PC, Adware, etc. Please serch it by the keyword "spyware".

I use and recommend Spybot Search and Destroy. I used to use Ad-aware but
Spybot picks up a lot of things that Ad-aware misses. (I still have both on
my 'puter) And it's free. I scan a couple of times a week.
