Hi,
I don't know if I have stuffed up the config but all the work units get
to 99.???% and then stop. It won't send the unit but keeps downloading
more. Any ideas?

Send some more information; maybe you'll get more replies.

An important point to mention: What software are you using? What is it -
specifically - in your software that is indicating to you that completed WUs
are not being sent? Please describe the name of the field and its contents.

For instance, I'm using SETI-non-graphic client (SETI-cli). This version
has no complex, moving graphical display, and doesn't even tell what
progress has been made towards completing the present unit (Work Unit - WU).
It is supposed to process WUs about 25% faster than the graphical version,
since the computer doesn't have to spend cycles drawing pretty pictures. If
you're using the pretty, graphical version, that is OK for this discussion,
and doesn't change the diagnosis of your problem.

I'm also using SETI-Driver, which controls the downloading, uploading, and
caching of units (Work Units - WUs), delivers them to my SETI-cli for
processing, and gives a slow, boring display of progress displayed as
%-competed and estimated [local] time when the WU will be completed. By
caching a WU ahead of time, I don't have to be there to download the new WU
when the old one is finished. In fact, with a broadband connection, I don't
have to look at SETI - ever - if I don't want to. SETI Driver will just
keep things flowing.

If you, per chance, had the same setup as me, I would say there's nothing
you can do to make either of these two programs stop processing at 99.???%.
And, SETI Driver would not normally download a new WU unless and until it
uploaded a completed WU.

And, I have never seen my SETI Driver display "Work Unit 100% complete." If
that is displayed for a millisecond, then I have never seen it.
More'n'likely, SETI Driver starts uploading, downloading, and displaying
"Work Unit 0% complete" as soon as the last WU is finished.

Could your situation be as simple as this - that you haven't actually seen
it say 100%?

So, are you are using SETI Driver? What is the Cache setting (Desired Cache
Size), what is being reported in the fields "Processing," Waiting to
Process," "Need to Fill," and "Ready to Transmit?" Are you using a
phone-connection or broadband-always-connected?

Come on man, don't be shy. It's all ASCII communications. We don't care if
you're just a whippersnapper. I still have sleep-chunks in my eyes, haven't
shaved yet, can't find my pants, and Mars will be rising any moment. That
doesn't keep me from writing the full story.

So give it up. Help us to help u. (Not that I'm going to have the answer
to your problem, but if you supply enough troubleshooting information,
someone out there will.)

Best luck,
                -Neil-
