Have been running my small network using SETIQ as the proxy, and very
happy with the results. However, I have 2 minor problems on which I
would appreciate guidance -
1. How can I enable the "Looking for sweet WUs" feature?
Many thanks for this advice, but can I push for more please?
a) Set a password in the GUI Settings / Http Server / Administrative
password
Done
b) http://your_setiqueue_server_machine_name:5517/login.htm
I assume this is done via my web browser (MS IE5.5 in my case) while on
line?
c) Login using 'Admin' for the username
Again, my password will be the one I set locally, I assume?
d) Click on 'Settings' & "Click to edit settings"
e) Scroll down to "Look for sweet WUs" and enable it.
2. Although I am running the U/L results and D/L new WUs manually
I would like to do this automatically overnight.
Does your machine dialup automaticaly if you just open a browser window
without connecting first..?
Yes
If it does then SetiQueue ought to connect
automaticaly.
(I use a LANmodem.) AFAICR there's a checkbox option in the login
box to 'connect automaticaly' that comes up when you connect manually...
I hope to be joining you broadband users by Christmas using a WiFi ISP
running the 802.11g standard. This is my only option, as my exchange
seems very very low on BT's ADSL enabling priority list and I am 7 km
from the exchange. I have ruled out 2 way satellite as far too expensive
for a home user (£900 +VAT for equipment and £59.99 per month rental).

Many thanks for the advice.
I needed to set my auto dial up to active. I had avoided it in the past
as it tried to contact Demon's Green Romp not the G5 Surftime flat rate
number. This has made me correct the deficiency, and I will try the
auto-upload tonight.
