A simple question, I'm currently running GUI version 3.07 on a couple of
machines. Should I upgrade to 3.08?
Thanks,

Aw comon' man, I know your capabilities from the other groups!!! Go with
the CLI. Try it on one machine for a week, & then tell me you'll go
back???
Never! I assure you.
Here's a set-up link:

*Courtesy of ars TLC public FAQ webpages.
Use the second link down called "CLI Manual (pdf download) -- by
Crossroads".
Don't use the doc's referenced/supplied 3.08 CLI.
Use 3.03.
Here's a link to the Berkeley Clients:
ftp://alien.ssl.berkeley.edu/pub/
Here's what may be an easier direct link to the 3.03 CLI:

*Courtesy of SETI-UK public webpage.
CLI 3.03 is the 6th link down, on the left-hand side. 3.03 IME runs 10%+
faster than 3.08 w/the same security issue as 3.07/3.08 GUI, which is
essentially a non-issue, unless you plan on directing your client to some
unknown server somewhere, where a hacker is knowingly waiting for you to
show up!!!
Google SetiSpy & SetiDriver for the homepages & download the
documentation for additional information, if you'd like (highly
recommended), even though the links give you every thing you need to
set-up
and run.
You've turned me on to Sandra & a few other useful tools over the last
several years. Let me return the favor. If you need my addy, post a
request
in this thread & I'll send it.
Go for it!... & good luck!

Hey Strat.
Thanks for this, I've filed it for future reference. I'm not going to do it
just yet, lots of other stuff going on right now. As you probably know, I'm
mainly a hardware man, I'm not that shit-hot with software.
BTW, thanks for that info on the Neo mobo. I sent it back and built the guy
a Barton 2500+ system that he's really happy with.
Cheers dude,
