Stratcat, who posts here, has his P4 2.4C overclocked some way and he's
getting circa 17 results/day off it..! I'm dead jealous 'cause I have
nothing that even approaches that. ;-) Best I have at the moment is an
AMD
1700+ overclocked 60% running WinServer'03, currently averaging 2h06m for
11.4 results/day but at least that CPU only cost me US$70. ;-)
Your 'single cpu' times are faster Nick. I did the benchmark 0.417 WU
in 2:10:03. Your benchmark time puts you near the very top of the pack
for standard commercial desktop processing.
My only advantage is the hyperthreading, allowing two CLI's. Now that I've
tried HT, I'm never going back!
I'm runnin' a 2.6G actually, & 25% OC's w/a good board and memory, are
more or less, a given, with these 2.4/2.6 D stepping P4's; Even w/a stock
HSF.
Now a 60% OC, IMNSHO, takes some real skill (and awesome cooling,
I'd suspect). For that, I'm jealous.
