What upsets me is that I've only done about 170 wu and I'm way up in the
85% area and less that 2000 of 4 Million have done this well (?). It
seems a lot of those people do a couple of wu and quit. It would strike
me that to maintain an accurate idea where SETI@home is going is to prune
users who have not done a wu for a certain period of time and those who
have only done a very few over an extended period. I'm in the top 15%
for doing 170 units, thats not realistic.
Heh, try sending _one_ WU to a new account - you'll instantly have done more
WUs than ~30% of all users. <LOL> ie. ~1.4 million "users" have never sent
in even a single result..!
I think the folks at Berkeley leave these 'non-users' still listed 'cause
4.7 million users sounds a lot better than 3.3 million users. ;-) Who
knows, they may return sometime and start contributing...
Keep an eye on your 'rank' instead - that's a more realistic 'perception' of
where you're at compared to other folks who take the project seriously - I'm
currently up to only 3,389 folks ahead of me with 23,563 results under my
belt. :-)
