SETI has always used roughly 35% of my computers resources, on an anthlon
2400 XP Pro w/ seti 3.08 and seti spy 3.3.3. Over the last month I have
watched seti slowly creep up devoring more CPU usage.
Last month it demanded 35.4% CPU power and has slowly creeped up and as
of
this morning demands 36.1% I realize overall this is a small change but
anyone have idea why seti is slowly taking over the CPU?
Any Idea's or input appreciated.
Heh, that's funny - something is decidedly wrong - when you're not doing
anything else, SETI should take _all_ the system's resources. ie. 99.x%..!
SETI@home runs at 'low' priority by default thus it will 'get out of the
way' when pretty much anything else accesses the CPU.
Eg; I had Windows Media Player (wmplayer.exe) running a movie (.wmv) on
another machine whilst SETI was running in _normal_ priority, letalone 'low'
priority - the movie still played smooth as silk though - that machine has
an Athlon XP running at 10.5x200 for 2.1GHz...
