Okay I will take a stab at it.......Turn the machine off, unplug the
video card and then plug it back in. That seems to work intermittently
for me on one I am having a very similar problem with. This one has a
built in monitor slot and the machine can't seem to decide which
monitor to use, the built in or the one I put in. And yes I have
changed both the battery and the bios settings several times.
Sometimes I also have to wiggle the monitor cable to get it to work.
Mine would NOT work with the cd drive plugged in at all! I mean even
the cable had to be unplugged. You may try that too, unplug every
cable from all drives except the floppy and see if it will boot that
way. That works for me most of the time. I am going to pitch mine if I
can't fix it soon, it was a gift from a friend. It is a 450mhz but if
it won't work then it just isn't worth the trouble.
And yes I have an ISA video card too and actually have it in use in an
old 400mhz machine.
Thanks for the input, the more information the better.
Cheers,
