(This looks suscpicously like baiting...)
s@h runs better on Linux because it is less likely to suffer downtime
due to the inevitable Windows BSODs and multiple WinVirus/WinWorm
infestations.
Running 2 years never had a problem... Win XP Pro, Gigihertz P4 MB, 1gig
ddr,
Parahelion 256meg video card, raid array...
However, the Windows s@h x86 3.03 client is better optimised than the
linux clients. So the fastest combination seems to be to use the
_Windows_ 3.03 s@h client under the Wine enviroment on _Linux_.
Then again, if you've already got Windows installed and you've no other
reason to change, then just run s@h on that.
As for your CPUs:
If your P4(mobile) is one of those big cache Centrino things, then it
will be faster than the higher clocked (smaller cache) P4 regardless of
what OS.
Make sure you don't get the things throttling back due to overheating or
battery operation.
