Yep... Also, mine will get worse when I go for water cooling on the next
upgrade
Why..?
For the higher amperage CPU and all the other extra bits I'll be hanging
off it! The older bits may well be kept in service also...
Naff all Wattage really - if you upgrade to a 17" LCD at the same time then
your overall power usage for computing will plummet..! Quite affordable now

I'm still fond of CRTs for their higher pixel resolutions. I'm one for
having multiple documents open, or for large listings/diagrams, and get
very out of patience if I'm forced to look at a 'small part of the
picture' and forever scrolling around. I've been using the second
monitor with my backup machine as a dumb terminal recently for a bit of
extra viewing space...
Must investigate multiple monitors... Could well go for one or more of
the LCDs/TFTs as their price continues to drop or if the resolutions
increase. They are rather nice for being less bulky and less waste heat
generating than the CRTs. The dead pixels bit with them though is a bummer.

Yep - as you've seen I now have six machines on CPDN and only one still
SETIing - I'd probably have switched that one too but it's running
WinServer03 and the CPDN client has issues with that O/S as yet.
It's a shame the UK group haven't ported the CPDN client over to Linux.
I may try it on Wine next week when I have time to play. Could be
interesting...
En-route but not there as yet. Checkout the Linux message board off the
main page for Linux/Wine info' - it's not a simple installation but it can
be done using a Windows box for the down/upload of data and there's a
looooong gap between the two with CPDN..!
Now that is interesting... I'll have a nosey later.
WinServ03 is pretty high on their list of 'ports' too - fussy networking is
stopping it running at the moment.
Isn't the easy fix just to move it over to your favourite flavour of
Linux?... (;-))
Cheers,
Martin
