Dual cards are nice, but only have one LUT, which means you
can only color-manage one of the outputs.  Having separate
cards is cheaper and more flexible, and you may be able
to keep your existing card.  I have 3 x Matrox G200 cards
and each one can be color-managed and calibrated individually
for each monitor.

Thanks for the notes folks. I quite like the multiple (cheap) PCI graphics cards idea. I can still have a high spec AGP card for doing the graphics intensive stuff.

The article at:
<http://astrotips.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=7&page=1>

gives a good argument for staying away from LCD stuff if you'll be playing with images. They should be good enough for text/docs stuff...

So, the next upgrade could well have AGP card -> aperture grill CRT, and  N x PCI cards -> LCDs...

Christmas may come early!

Thanks,
Martin
