I use a program called MailWasher which pre-reads my email on the
server and automatically cleans it out before DL'ng. As you use
it, it "learns" what email you want and what you don't want via
filters and a blacklist which you can set up with a click of the
mouse. It even checks different ORDB sires for blacklisted addy's
You can try MailWasher for free at
http://entier.ecosm.com/link/?wrbrto
This link does take you to the MailWasher site. It just lets them
know I sent ya :-)

PS I scan my PC once a week with Norton AV and also with the
online scanner at http://trendmicro.com. I use ZoneAlarm Pro and
Ad-Aware also to help keep out (and in) various data miners.
Hi Terry
I've used Mailwasher for some time now and it's very good - do beware what
it will receive from sites like spamcop & then blacklist though. Eg. Spamcop
have the ClimatePrediction.NET developer Carl Christensen blacklisted
because he sent out 10,000 emails to folks who had asked for notification
when they visited the pre-release CPDN website...
Also be aware that 'ad-aware' doesn't remove ALL tracking cookies, only
those from certain companies. If you check your temporary internet files
folder after running ad-aware then you'll see there are still a whole bunch
of cookies there from the likes of 'doubleclick' and others with obvious
names. One wonders if a part of ad-aware's income comes from advertising
companies...
