I wonder if 3.08 addressed this or what?  I definitely recall reading 
per-clock, the Opteron running slower than the Athlon XP on S@H.

I believe that most of the confusion came from comparing the 3.03
32-bit client against the 3.08 64-bit client, as you can see in this
