Hello world...
The world says hello back... lol
I have 3 machines, 2 desktops and a laptop, all on windows Xp
One of them has a dialup connection, and Setigate installed. I have the
problem with the connection between the "server" and the clients, (cmd
3.08), "downloading" units is been corrupted. note. the 100mb lan works
perfectly, and it seems to be happen and between the active client on the
server. there is a firewall installed too, but is set to not monitor the
connections between the lan's computers.
at first I'ld like to ask a few ideas of how I can "fix" the problem of
"corrupted" download units. (now I have to "run" on the other pc to
restart
the client, once or twice, until it download a unit correctly).
I was getting corrupt units when I was downloading 5 at a time, I reduced it
to 2 & have had no problems since. It worked for me
at secont any ideas of why the damn laptop (windows xp home) although it
gets correctly the wu, after completing it, it cant sent it. I tryied
changing the ports (on the http ie), but I get that "chiniz" error, of
invalid ports. On the correct port (5001) "server not found"
note that all referenses are done by ip adresses like 192.164.3.1:5001
(I did it only once, I didnt try to get a new wu from the server)
Sorry, I cant help you. I have 2 pc's running SETI, I send/recieve each pc
separately.
1 has the dialup connection & the other uses the connection sharing
third. I have 3 wu that are like "sending result" on the last 3 days.
there
was a general dialup problem with the isp, i tried to sent that results (i
tried three times to sent) but I got the "not valid responce, keeping the
result" error, three times (after a 5min "break"), But the status of the
results is still "sending result". Of course since then I have completed a
lot of wu, and I have send them correctly.
Have you tryed to restore the unit & then sending it?
It happens occationally to me, but I don't know why?
any responce is welcome
