With, or without your network admin's approval? If with, then he/she
should be able to sort out proxy arrangements. If without, then you're
stymied.
Im a sys admin on a RM network in the Scottish Borders. There are ways
around it, but you HAVE to have admin rights. If you are just trying to
load it on a workstation wont due to the File Protector restrictions.
You also have to get round the proxy, assuming that the school uses one,
and I would be VERY surprised if you dont. Any good sys admin should
know how to get round the proxy, but if he will let you have this
information is another matter - I certainly wouldnt put the info into
the seti files on a classroom machine. Its the sort of info I dont want
the kids passing round!
Seti runs quite happily on the machine on my desk in my office. And on
a very old P1 in the corner of the office which has but 1 function in
life now - crunching :-) Its so slow, it barely runs on the network!
