I have recently set up a dual boot arrangement with my Intel Celeron 1.7
GHz, SD-RAM PC133
Windows 98SE running the GUI client takes 8.11 hours CPU time (average
of 40)
windows XP home running the GUI client takes 11.07 hours CPU time
(average of 20)
windows XP home running the commandline client takes 8.67 hours CPU time
(average of 9)
XPs Task Manager shows SETIclient gets 99% of the CPU time over a 24 hour
period.
Are there other overheads in XP?
Anything I can do to get back the 98 performance?
Dave
