Well, in spite of too many months of hardware down time--first
lightning killed my system and then, about a year or so later, the
m'board of its replacement died--I've finally broken 1000 work
units!

That's about 2.5 years after beginning but, due partly to
procrastination and partly to limited funds, about a year of
that was with dead systems.

System runs freeBSD--various versions, currently 3.4; current
processor is 2.4GHz but most have been under 1.0GHz.

Nice going.  Are you glad you stuck with it?
