This sounds like a heat problem.  Open your case and carefully blow out all
the dust bunnies.  Also, make sure your fans are running properly.  The CLI
version is known drive the CPU the hardest, thus generating the most heat,
in the first few minutes of a WU.

Well..... it is Windows..... so have you rebooted?  I think that's how
one fixes most Windows problems.

The screensaver seemed to me, back when I last used it, to be a bit more
intrusive than the cli version... so the second thing one usually does
when something in Windows is misbehaving is to uninstall the program and
re-install it, with a reboot in-between.

Next up, when things in Windows don't work, and the above two things
haven't solved the problem, switch to another program that does pretty
much the same thing... in thise case, the cli version.

It's faster, anyway.
