I've given up. enough WUs are trashed that I'm deleting all WUs and
affected files from all machines. That is well over 400 files that
must be edited by hand.

So, as I have no way of knowing which files are trashed and these
things may return up to near a 100 in a day, I'm shutting the systems
down and editing them as time permits. I figure it'll take the better
part of a day to recover the setup and have it running as it was
before.

However some kind soul posted to just replace the user info and lock
files. That's still a lot of work, but it's a lot faster than doing
all WUs.

Absolutely no virus, or spam has ever caused me that much work.
