Hi Cern,
I'm running SETIMonitor and sometimes SETISpy (just to check my stats).
The process is set to low.
I fear that the APC software to monitor the UPS may have been what was
doing it. I uninstalled and reinstalled the APC server, client and
console. Thinking back, this freezing problem started just about the
time I installed the APC 700 UPS. Today, after the reinstall the PC
just shut down. I walked away to pick up the phone, came back 5 minutes
later and was at the win2k login screen. I uninstalled the APC
software. We'll see what happens in next few days. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks for your reply.

It seems that the text client is locking up my win2k pc. Anyone else
have this problem? Anyone know how I can fix it? Thanks in advance for
any info.
What are you using to run the client, if anything? I run SETISpy and
SETIDriver, and when I first started using them on Win2k Pro, my
system froze too. Thanks to the bods on here, I found I had to set
the priority in SETIDriver to low rather than normal. Now everything
works fine.
