Well, I shut the pc down, really cleaned the insides well. There was
_some_ dust. Removed a drive that was not being used. Moved all the
cables out of the way of the fan's airflow. Replaced 1 fan and
installed an additional fan. 3 case fans now, 1 in the front, 1 on the
side and an exhaust fan up top. Replaced the CPU fan. Finally I did
what you guys told me to do. I put the sides back on.
This thread started my temps were, mainboard 50C/122F and CPU 63C/146F.
I am SO very happy to report that the mainboard is 35C/95F and CPU
39C/102F right now. (100% cpu) WU's on this machine would take 4.25h
before, now she's doing them in 3.75h.
I installed SetiQueue last night. I followed the directions, but
nothing much has happened. Completed a couple WU's, but SQ has not yet
pulled down any WU's. I'll give SQ a few hours and see if it grabs any.
If not, I'll reinstall SetiMonitor.
Thanks to ALL the guys that helped me. I am probably the #1 reason why
truck drivers should not play with PCs. Kids, STAY IN SCHOOL! Don't
end up like me. :)
Have a happy and safe Holiday everyone. I really appreciate the lessons
learned and your time. I hope you/we find ET in 04.
Peace,
