It certainly works!
It does, but requires you log in to X to do any crunching... a not good
thing for many folks (myself included).
I have run it without X running.
In the [wine] section of the .wine/config file, change the:
"GraphicsDriver" = "x11drv"
to:
"GraphicsDriver" = "ttydrv"
and wine should now run in console mode without the need for an
X-session (you may still need to install X, but not start it).
I'm not sure if this works with the current version of wine as I
later switched over to the Linux client for other reasons.
