Yes, it is a recursive acronym - Wine Is Not an Emulator  :-)

The overhead might even be less than the original Windoze it reimplements.

I think the WineHQ website claims just that for some applications, but 
I'm not totally convinced it's common enough to be noteworthy.

ReiserFS is rather good...

Just so long as you're aware its filesystem recovery tools aren't as 
powerful as any of the Ext2 tools out there.  If a drive starts to go, 
you may lose *everything* while with Ext2, you can most certainly save 
far more.
