I back up things that are non-replacable. Backing up more than the bare
necessities of non-replacable files is just not cost effective enough
for me at this stage of the game.
I prefer the advantages of a good file system and a thorough backup
strategy.
Been hammering ReiserFS for many months now with nary a problem other
than reckless stupidity on one or two occasions. Reiser recovered with
hardly a hiccup.
Oh, I didn't say I had had any problems with it. This ReiserFS
partition here is getting close to its first birthday, I think. It has
survived at least one OS rebuild and is getting close to being resized
for the first time. It's still plonking away just fine. :-)
A friend, however, had a drive start to go bad and lost his whole
partition real quick. He did have backups, of course, but backups are
never perfect.
