FWIW, they did.
My farm has two dual PIII 1GHz systems of a planned four (Gigabyte
GA-6VTXDs) running as internet servers and running S@h at idle priority.
They're mildly overclockable but I generally have them running as rated.
Each processor typically completes a WU in about 9 1/2 hours.
The mobo is capable of accepting the FC-PGA2 Tualatins but replacing four
new processors just isn't worth the performance increase at this point.
