I think I have a link at work to the Intel page where they state
this; it's rather difficult to find. If I can find it, I'll post
it.
Check your "facts" before you try to contradict someone's REAL
experience with something you think you remember reading. Many of us
used dual socket 370 PIII's. Try a quick google.com search for "dual
370 motherboard" and you'll find many different brands of motherboards
that do exactly what you claim can't be done. Search engines make it
soooo easy to check your facts--you should try it some time.
Yes, and there's also genuine Intel documentation; see the Pentium
III Processor Quick Reference Guide at
http://www.intel.com/design/pentiumiii/qit/update.pdf
and review note 9.
Sorry to come down so hard on you but as a full-time PC specialist for
17 years I do get so tired of hearing all the "experts" out there who
know a few things and suddenly know everything......
Only 17 years? I started working with computers before there were PCs;
the first system I spent any time with was an NCR Century 200, with a
whopping 32K of magnetic rod memory, a dual spindle removable-pack
disc drive (4MB per 14" diameter 8" thick pack), four tape drives, and
a nice 1500LPM drum printer. That was in 1971, 32 years ago.
Wonder how long that would have taken to crunch the TLC regerence WU...
