You might be talking about the anomalous signals picked up by
Project Serendip from the vicinity of 70 Virginis. There was a
planet 8 times the size of Jupiter discovered orbiting it and
Serendip decided to go back and look at it's data and found the
signals. However they stop short of claiming they are artificial
in nature.
