Hi folks.
Just wondering: is the data you send back from the BOINC beta test
(Astropulse) already checked for signal candidates? Or is the data
returned now lost and will it only start recording when the beta fase is
over?
And: howcome I can only participate in the astropulse project and not
SETI@Home classic via BOINC?
As far as I am aware the Astropulse and S@H code is also in beta which would
imply that results are not kept as they could well be wrong. At one point
there was a bug which caused WUs to be processed within seconds, its things
like this which mean that the returned data is not useful.
One of the features of BOINC is that multiple projects can be run through
one master project as it were. In this case the berkeley guys are running
Astopulse and S@H via just one project. They choose which WUs to send to us
and BOINC uses the correct client accordingly. At the moment I am getting
S@H units. The project is called astropulse, but if you goto the work tab it
will tell you which project your WUs are actually from.
