Okay Terry, what did you to the machine just prior to you noticing the
change in time?
And please don't say "nothing" because that is like Sears telling me a
few years back that "the computer made the mistake, not a person"!
Computers are VERY stupid they only do what we tell them.
Soooo.... what did you do just before the problem?
Did you load any programs? Did you check for a virus lately, there are
several places on-line that are free to do this.
Are you not shutting down the monitor any more?
What?

I'm sure it will -- it improves the other machine's turnaround by
something over 10% :-) But I'm talking about a sudden 3- or 400%
increase in turnaround on a machine *on which nothing else has changed.*
Before Jan 1/2 it was taking around 5-6 hours per unit, now it's up to
20 hours. I've been running the GUI throughout . I'm sure I'd spot some
other signs if the machine's performance had degraded that much!

Did Windows Update do an automatic update?
Did Norton Anti-Virus do a live update?
My Kerio Firewall is set to trap all application launches with changed
version numbers and it trapped Symantec Common Client just recently.
