FAQ 2.19: I am experiencing crashes under Windows XP. How can I fix it?
SETI Spy 3.0.7 and earlier contain a bug that results in crashes under
Windows XP when using visual themes. This bug was fixed in SETI Spy 3.1.0,
so please make sure you have the latest version of SETI Spy. I you still
experience instabilities under Windows XP with the latest version, please
try changing the compatibility options and/or disabling visual themes. If
all else fails, try using the -wait nn command line parameter function to
delay SETI Spy's startup by a few (the nn value) seconds. For example, if
you are having problems with SETI Spy crashing on Windows XP startup, try
adding "-wait 15" (without the quotes) to the target of the SETI Spy
shortcut in your startup folder.

If you rgiht click on the task bar and then click on properties. Un-tick
the
hide inactive icons box or, click on customize. When you get to that
page,
look for your icon on the LHS, then on the RHS it will probably say
"Hide
when inactive" click on that and you will get a drop-down menu, then
click
"always show". Should be ok then.
