Ones WITH an L2 cache of at least 512K.

The Duron and Celeron models of both AMD and Intel have basically no
L2 cache and take forever, comparatively, to do a workunit!

My Athlon Thunderbird 1400 384kB total cache averages 5.671 hrs.
On the same m/b Duron 1300 192kB total cache averages 5.368 hrs!

The Duron Morgan has some Thoroughbred tech in it.

My wife just got a 2.4 Intel Celeron and it does units in around 7
hours!

How about:
Celeron Coppermine 1100 @ 1210 128kB cache averages 6.746 hrs.
Celeron Tualatin 1100 @ 1210 256kB cache averages 6.097 hrs.

Celeron 4 clock cycles aren't worth a lot.

My AMD 2500 does then in around 3!

The best single cpu price/performance deal for running s@h at the moment
may be the P4 2.6 or 2.8GHz HT 800fsb processor, and crunch 2 wus at the
same time for about a 2 hour average.

Cheers,
Chris.
