Ok, I will like to know a little more about the Boinc@home
project?
There are 2 @home projects that I will like to run right now.
The
seti@home and the FightAids@home projects. Will Boinc@home
let me run
them both? And dose anyone one knows when it will be out? And
dose
anyone know how it will work? What I mean you know how
seti@home has 2
way you can run it. You can have it run all the time or only
with the
Screensaver, will the Boinc@home be like that? Thanks.
Anyone?
First, it is not boinc@home but just BOINC (Berkeley Open
Infrastructure for Network Computing).
It is a client that will allow you to run many distributed
computing projects from one interface.
Some projects that it can control will include
seti@home
folding@home
Climate Prediction
and others.
BOINC does not process the data but rather controls the client
that does the processing. It will organize the upload and
download of data. It will also allow the user the ability to
decide which project gets the most attention.
For instance you might decide to run seti@home 70% of the time
and folding@home 30% of the time or any combination you wish. If
one project is down or out of work it will automatically switch
to another project (if you have selected one).
You can pick and chose which projects to run.
