Now that I have SetiGate up and running smoothly, I decided to do a bit of a
security battery on its default service port (5001).
As long as SetiGate is running any port scan of the computer system will
show the port wide open looking to accept any incoming traffic from any IP.
Firewalls seem unable to close this port as long as the add-on is running.
Once the program is shut down the Port is once again closed by a firewall
program.
Is this a simple secuity glitch in the programs design, or a backdoor
allowing others access to computers running this program?
Either way, I wanted to alert those of you running this add-on to this
security issue.
