Except the topic is going from 5122MB to 1GB which precludes that now doesn't it ?
Those chip-sets that had that problem would not even reach 512MB.

| There were plenty of threads when Seti@home was new, about people who added
| memory and saw slower seti times. This was due to some motherboards not
| caching memory above 64M, and S@h happened to get stuck in memory above 64M
| which was slower.
