Thanks for the input guys.  Not really sure if I'm looking forward to the
full release of BOINC or not, but I'll sure give it a shot when its ready.

  I hope it lives up to the standard set by SETI 1.

Currently have a realtively new AMD crunching and have an AMD K2-350
gathering dust, and been looking at an old AMD K2-533.  If BOINC works out
well I'd consider setting up a small farm to do my part.

You didn't say what operating system.
Not sure how much good any timings will do you now.
It is stilll 'very' beta, and not optimized at all, in fact
as mentioned, it has so much extra debug code in it, it's
slower than prior betas.
Also if you get AstroPulse work units it's slower then  SETI II work
units.
