When in doubt, read the manual.
Auto connect: Use this feature to let SetiGate automatically
connect to the SETI@home server to
flush result and download new work units. Note: for this option to work
properly you will have to have a permanent connection to the Internet.
The hours and minutes settings determine the time of day at which SetiGate
will connect to the SETI@home server to send results and get new work units.
Ah - so setting Autoconnect to 1 hour doesn't mean 'check every hour to see
if anything needs to be sent' it means 'check at 1am' !
Could I make a suggestion to SetiGate's author that this be changed to make
it more intuitive / idiot-proof.

Thanks for the advice.
I checked Autoconnect and entered 1 hour,
I also tried it with checked Auto Reconnect on Timeout.
But a finished WU has been siting there unreturned overnight.
Any more ideas?
Windows XP, CLI 3.08, SetiGate 1.94, 772 WUs.

Under 'options' there will be an 'autoconnect' option. Enable it and
tell
it how much time you want to elapse between connections.

I process about 3 WUs a day, and have a cache of 8 WUs in SetiGate,
so it is usually 2 or 3 days before a WU gets processed.
Does this mean that my work will likely never be one of the first two
results returned, and hence it is 'out of date' before it starts?
I now have a broadband connection and could drop SetiGate altogether
except
that it is a good record of what I have done.
How do I tweak SetiGate to take advantage of being on-line all the
time?
