As I recall, the problem I ran into was that I stopped seti@home a couple of
years ago...I the meantime my isp changed it's computer system, it used to
be @home.com and is now @rogers.com...Therefore I was unable to check into
my account and make some changes.....There was something I needed to do,
which I have currently forgotten, which made getting into my account
necessarily.....I think I had forgotten my password or something...

Yes you NEED to know your original password that they assigned to you
to change anything. Of course you could just log in under the
original @home address and keep crunching.

So, with seti@home I am dead in the water, even though I have accumulated
around 5000 hours of computer time....With boinc I am not getting any data
feedback...I have no way of know if the program is even running or is doing
anyone any good...me or boinc....patients I, believe, I have plenty of...it
is just if something is not working for me I have not way of knowing if I am
just spinning my computer wheels or actually accomplishing something for the
overall good...

EVERY unit processed thru the Beta test is a valuable one!!! Even if
nothing goes wrong that is a sign, if something does go wrong that
also is a sign. There is not a lot of feedback during Beta's is
general. The programmers are analyzing the data and do not usually
have time to answer all the question. There is a forum set up for the
questions and answers, although the answers are often by people like
you and I.
