Just came back from spending some time out of town and it looks like win 98
on my old amd 350 crapped out on me, so I've installed XP on the machine and
slapped the old seti 3.03 build into it and it looks like the processing
time should come down to 30 - 40 hours. Much better then the 4+ days I was
getting origionally with Win 98 and the 3.08 build.

Thanks for all the input. you guys are great.

My Pentium 133 with 64mb ram processes a WU in 55-60 hours using cmd line
version and Seti Driver.
It's not doing anything else, but still faster than your AMD350. Must be
because you are using the screen saver version. I also have power saving
turned off - just leave the monitor off all the time.

I just hooked up an old AMD 350 (4 yrs old) with Windows 98 to crunch
for
SETI. I've installed the Gui 3.08 client, disabled the screen saver and
set
the monitor to go black after 5 minutes on non-use.

It appears to be crunching at a rate of 1% an hour. 4+ days per WU.
This
machine will be used exclusively for SETI.

Other then switching to the command line client any suggestions for
speeding up the crunch times on this machine?

Any input appreciated,

Thanks,
