Not really.
SETI is not gonna run and faster/slower no matter how much processes you have running,
the overall change will be no bigger then 1%. It's all cpu work.

If other processes are using cpu time then seti will run slower. So I
thought if I turn off all unnecessary processes and put seti at normal
priority it should use more of the cpu time.
Unless what you are saying is that the computer has priority and will
use cpu time according to it's needs and seti will use the rest.Is that
right?

I switched from the GUI to the command line version a couple of weeks
ago, and I've found it is much better. It runs all the time, using
whatever extra CPU time is available.

If you're running the CLI version of SAH in low or idle priority, then
it will use all extra processing time, but still give all other programs
higher priority.

This is a good thing.

It will not affect work unit processing speed. It may take longer to
complete a work unit since the CPU may be busy when you're playing a
game or something. But the CPU time to process the work unit will be the
same.

I just want to turn off any processes like my auto updater for windows
and auto updater for anti virus, anti virus, firerwall[I use seti
offline].

You don't need to do that. Those processes will only run occasionally
and will not interfere with SAH.
