I hope the final BOINC software is going to be a bit more
user-friendly when this common occurrence happens.  What
could be so hard about telling the user that the client
can't contact the server right now, but will try again soon ?

Heh... one word in my city has me worried -- "redhat".  I'm not 100% sure
about what it means but I know there's no way BOINC is going to figure it
out.
