Well, it's not the first time people have contested the start date.  A search
on Google Groups reminds me of a lot of arguments back in 1999 about
that.  ;-)

And although I can't find it, I do recall one of the SETI@home guys posting

For what it's worth, I agree with you about May 14 because I remember
the announcement too.  But the general consensus reached back then
was May 17.

Thanks to everyone how have reposted to me! I have enjoyed reading
everything you guys have said. We need to have more debates about
seti@home to make this group livelier! LOL :)
