We'll see how well it does...
Even the GUI shouldn't be as slow as 30 hours, unless you don't have it
set to blank the screen after a minute or so. That's why the CLI version
is so popular with serious crunchers, it doesn't use any graphics at all
and is 1-2% faster per work unit.
I switched to the CLI recently myself so SAH could run all the time in
the background. Before I had the GUI running only as a screen saver and
blanking the screen immediately. Process times were about the same, but
I now turn out about 5-10% more work units per day because it's always
running. At low priority mode, it has little impact on most other
programs - online gaming is essentially unaffected by SAH.
