Call whoever serviced it and ask them what they did. Or, just reinstall
whatever package you were using to connect...

and in between time i have a new telephone company so i cant get my seti
@home pin number
i was with bigpond and now with optusnet adsl ..../so does that mean i
have to start all
over again

You can still use your existing account, but without the password, you
won't be able to make changes to your account. About the only option
available is to try and reopen your bigpond account for a month, have
your password sent, and save it somewhere not dependent upon which ISP
you have.
