I've been running seti@home on various machines under various O.S.'s for
five years without any problems, the machine would start up, the radio
telescope icon would appear in the tray and the program would run as a
screen saver.

A few weeks ago I installed 3.08 and it worked O.K. for a few days then
stopped auto loading, I un-installed, removed all references form the
registry and installed again, same thing, it worked for a few days and
then vanished from the tray.

The program would start and work from the start menu but vanish again on
a re-boot, I'm a home user who turns off the computer overnight.

Has anyone an idea what's going on, I've even reverted to 3.07 without
success.

Mike

Mike,

I'm sorry. I've run Seti@home for four years on both windows 98 and XP on
various types of machines using three seperate Seti GUI builds and I have
never seen the issue you discribe.

I hope one of our more knowledgeable posters can be of assistance, I've only
posted as I'm interested in learning the cause and solution to this issue.

Please keep us posted on any success or lack there of.

Wish I could be of help.
