I had posted a message about my SETI problems which seemed to be similar to 
the Setiqueue Blues post, and gotten a lot of great responses.  SETI seems 
to be working OK now, and I'm not sure why. :)  I uninstalled Setiqueue and 
that didn't fix the modem hanging problem; everytime SETI went for another 
WU, it hung and also hung all 'net communications. (I thought XP home 
edition wasn't supposed to let things like that happen?)  But what I did 
was go in and do *nothing more* than *look* at all network 
connections/drivers (Microsoft Client, TCP/IP Connection, etc), click OK 
and get out (btw I have 2-way sat connection).  Since then, SETI has been 
happy as can be, churning out WUs, connecting OK and not hanging up 
anything.  I'm baffled, but I'm not going to complain! :) :) :)  I've also 
decided not to reinstall Setiqueue.  Thanks!!!

PS. Thanks for the URL for mersenne - a friend of mine usta run that, and I 
think it's worth considering.
