When will boinc start? Will I be able to use my current email account

1) No one has the definitative asnwer to your first question! Soon is
the "best guess", that can be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks
to a few months. More and more of the bugs that the Beta testers have
found have been eliminated. When wil lenough be enough, no one can
answer except the programmers and they aren't saying.
2) Sort of, you will given a web page to go to and then you will log
on using your current email account and then to that account will be
emailed a user number that you will use to log into Boinc with. If
your old email doesn't work for you anymore, Seti has not said what
will happen. The assumption is, and yes I know what happens when we
assume anything, you will have to log in as a brand new user.
3) The current Seti project stats will be frozen and the new Boinc
processing will begin with all new stats. There MAY be a listing that
shows both in your total stats but that is not yet determined.
Remember under Boinc you can choose how much of your computer you use
for the different "distributed net" programs. Climate predictions,
AstroPulse, Black Hole research, have all expressed an interest in
Boinc, there are others. Some are Beta testing, some aren't yet.
The next Seti is in the Beta testing phase thru Berkeley now.
AstoPulse is looking for someone to take over the project and develop
it for Boinc. Climate predictions is currently asking for testers,
they are not working thru Berkeley but are using the Boinc project as
it was intended, a base to work from.
You as the user can choose to have say 50% for Seti, 30% for
AstroPulse and 20% for Climate work, your computer your choice.
You will be able to choose as the different projects come along.
