I have been running SETI for a few years now over 6,550 hours and have just
clocked my 500th WU.
Firstly, I've had no email with my certificate for my 500th unit. Do they
still send out certificates?
Secondly, there's a lot of chat about BOINC. I don't frequent this group
often and whilst trying not to make myself look silly, but what is it?

Boinc is the next version of Seti, in effect Seti2. Literally Boinc is
a platform to let other distributed computing projects have a single
piece of software that they can then customize for their own use.
Climate Predictions, AstroPulse, Black Hole research, etc. are all in
the planning stages or farther.
Seti2 is still in the Beta stage and isn't quite ready for prime time
but it is close.
