I've had the same issue with NTL broadband.  The SETI@home systems
are running, but are experiencing a serious problem, see:

Whenever it says, "The data server is up and running, but dropping
connections" I have found it is only possible to connect when using
a dial-up modem.  So much for progress.  :-(
