Getting rid of the virus checker takes a bit more interest. At least have it NOT check the s@h directory files.

Also take a look at using the CLI + whatever addon. Much faster than the GUI s@h.

If you wish to stay with the pretty 'screensaver', then set it to go blank after a few minutes (s@h settings).


Fastest I've found for a system is to use the WinNT s@h v3.03 CLI on Wine on Linux, with SetiSpy and SetiQueue for the niceties.

Roll on Boinc soon.
