I think I'm going to sit back and stick to SETI Classic for now until they
officially cancel it or I reach my next Cert. Which ever comes first.

In the mean time I'm going to watch the BOINC discussions and hopefully the
bugs will be worked out enough to persuade me to move onto the next phase of
SETI.

I can only hope that BOINC will be as successful as SETI@Home.

Check your "Pending" Credits.

OK, found it.

I show 126 units there, only 2 are 'received',
and one of those shows an error.

In the BOINC client(s), I show 20 WUs returned.
In Boinc the credits are calculated differently AND they are granted
differently. At least 3 users MUST return the same work unit with
only slight variations in the amount of credit requests or the unit is
sent out to mroe computers until a verifiable crdit amount is
established. For instnace 1st computer asks for 300 points, 2nd asks
for 55 and 3rd asks for 35, something seems to be wrong with the 1st
computer, so the unit is sent back out for other computers to
establish what amount is correct. When at least 3 computers have
returned the same unit within the allowable variance, Berkeley is NOT
giving this info out, then we will be credited with the midlle amount
of credit. 1st computer requests 55 points, 2nd asks for 50 points and
the 3rd asks for 53 points, we all get 53 points.
It will take some time for our work to be credited due to some
strickter requirements to prevent cheating. In Seti Classic you could
alsmost finish a unit, save it and then send that saved part out to
hundreds of other computers all crunching under your
name/team/whatever and get credit ofr doing hundreds of units.
In Boinc YOU were giventhat unit and ONLY you can return it and then
ONLY within the alooted time frame. Check the work tab in Boinc and
you will see a "report deadline" date, that is when the unit MUST
bereturned by or you get NO credit and it is sent out to other
computers for crunching.
Keep the caches small, under 2 weeks at present, your account,
preferences, general, view/edit, min an dmax days to cache units.
A .? is an acceptable number to put in the first box, the ? MUST be a
number like, .5 and for the max it could be 1 so you cache between 1/2
and 1 day of units on your computer. This would work for users that
have an always on connection, for those that don't pick a time that is
slightly longer than how often you connect and just go to projects and
do a right click and do update, that will send and receive any new
units either finished or required. For the max put say twice or even 3
times as often as you connect, if not always on the net.
Remember, we are ALL waiting on you to finish your units so we can get
credit! Don't make the cache too big!
Currently Berkely is tweaking the system so you may get more than you
think you should or less than you want but give them time, there are
over 5 million registered users on Seti Classic. How many come over to
Boinc we will have to wait and see.
